2026 Black History Theme: A Century of Black History Commemorations

This year will mark a century of national commemorations of Black history. For our 100th celebration, the founders of Black History Month urge the nation to explore the impact and meaning of Black history and life commemorations in transforming the status of Black people in the modern world. We at the Grove will do Just that.

The colors that associate with BlackHistory are Black, Red, Maroon,Yellow/Gold, Green andPurple/Lavender. Each week we will ask you to wear a combination of these color to help honor the meanings these colors represent along with sharing focal points that you can take back with you to apply in your community.

1st Sunday

Black accented with Red and/or Maroon. (Preserving Black History)

2nd Sunday

Black accent with Yellow and/or Gold. (Celebrating Black Culture)

3rd Sunday

Black accent with Green.
